Empowering the youth to champion environmental sustainability through sensitization, action, and advocacy.

Vision

To empower and Inspire a generation of environmentally conscious youth champion in promoting environmental sustainability and improving livelihoods

Our Activities

  • Weekly Market Clean -Up (Malindi New Market and Bus Park and Kwa Jiwa Market) - Every Saturday at 5.30 a.m - 9.00 am, members converge to clean the markets as part of Community Social Responsibility
  • Monthly Clean-Up Crew: Last Saturday of every month, members gather at beaches, or nature reserves for clean-up activities, removing plastic waste and promoting a cleaner environment.
  • Tree planting events: Monthly tree-planting of indigenous species to contribute to afforestation and reforestation efforts and combat climate change.
  • Climate Resilient Agriculture: Improving lives of Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups through Climate Resilient Agricultural Practices.
  • Sensitization on Environmental Conservation - As part of  environmental conservation efforts, the group actively participates in various activities aimed at raising awareness on Climate Change and promoting sustainable practices.

Achievements

1. Weekly Market Clean -up (Malindi New Market and Bus Park and Kwa Jiwa Market)

2.Procuring and distributing 120 waste bins to residential building and villas within Malindi

3. Keeping Malindi Beaches clean through our “Monthly Clean Up Crew” activities

4. Planting over 500 mangroves in Sabaki River

5. Received Kshs. 500,000 grant for waste management activities from the office of Member of Parliament

Maono was developed as a dynamic space that empowers community based mobilisers and organisers to build networks, to build each other’s capacity and to build a movement of the people who truly make a change – the community mobilisers and organisers.
