Mission

We are dedicated to fostering a world where women live with dignity and engage as equal partners in development, in a safe and discrimination-free environment. Our commitment is to empower women, ensuring they rise above societal challenges and thrive.

Vision

Our aim is to become a pioneering organization that champions the social and economic empowerment of girls and women. We are committed to advancing gender equality through comprehensive and transformative policies that cut across various sectors, ensuring every girl and woman has the opportunity to succeed.

Our Programs

Education Programs:

  1. Young Achievers Forum: Motivates and awards students in primary and secondary education through mentorship.
  2. Career Fair Day: Helps high school graduates explore 21st-century career opportunities and facilitates interactions with higher education and vocational institutions.
  3. Marereni Community Library: Enhances access to educational materials to support learning in the Marereni area.

Water, Sanitation, Health, and Gender Programs:

  1. Marereni Public Sanitation Facility: Provides clean water and sanitation services at affordable rates.
  2. Women and Girls Empowerment on GBV: Offers comprehensive GBV prevention and response training, community mobilization, and support systems.
  3. Menstrual Hygiene Management: Promotes sexual and reproductive health education and provides support like sanitary towel distribution and educational sessions.
  4. Support to People Living with HIV/AIDS: Facilitates open discussion forums and psychological support for affected women and girls.

Sustainable Livelihood Programs:

  1. Women Empowerment through Livelihood Strengthening: Provides vocational training and entrepreneurship opportunities to help women engage in micro-businesses.
  2. Rural Girls Can Code: Partners with organizations to provide digital skills training.
  3. Entrepreneurship: Initiates programs to help female entrepreneurs overcome barriers and grow their businesses.

Advocacy, Governance, and Human Rights Defending Programs:

  1. Annual Young Women Human Rights Defenders Academy: Trains activists and defenders on skills for safety and advocacy.
  2. Programme for Young Women Politicians in Coast: Aims to empower young women in politics with resources and training.
  3. Training of Women Budget Champions: Equips women with the skills to monitor and follow up on budget processes.

Land, Environment, and Climate Justice Programs:

  1. Mangrove Conservation: Focuses on preserving mangrove ecosystems and improving local biodiversity.
  2. Environmental and Beach Clean-Ups: Organizes clean-up activities to maintain and preserve natural habitats.
  3. Talanta Community Cup: Uses sports to raise awareness about climate justice and environmental protection.

Achievements

  • Mentored hundreds of KCPE and KCSE students through the Young Achievers Forum, pairing them with individual mentors.
  • Facilitated career guidance and training for form four leavers during Career Fair Days, collaborating with universities and colleges.
  • Established the Marereni Community Library, starting with 200 books to enhance local education standards.
  • Constructed and operates the Marereni Public Sanitation Facility, providing affordable water and sanitation services.
  • Implemented a comprehensive GBV prevention and response program in Kilifi County, linking with women rescue centers and training community leaders.
  • Distributed sanitary towels and held motivational sessions, significantly improving menstrual hygiene management.
  • Supported numerous women and girls living with HIV/AIDS through discussion forums and psychological support.
  • Trained and empowered numerous women and girls in vocational skills such as salon/beauty, baking, and tailoring.
  • Developed digital skills in rural communities, with programs like Rural Girls Can Code, including website design and online marketing training.
  • Launched entrepreneurship programs, helping women start and grow businesses and creating open-air markets for product display.
  • Hosted the Annual Young Women Human Rights Defenders Academy, enhancing the capacity and safety of women activists in Magarini and Kilifi.
  • Established a training program for Young Women Politicians, fostering leadership and resource tapping in Coast politics.
  • Developed a cadre of Women Budget Champions skilled in monitoring governmental budget processes.
  • Led mangrove conservation efforts at Marereni Beach, planting new mangrove trees and cleaning waterways.
  • Organized monthly environmental and beach clean-ups, significantly reducing coastal and urban pollution.
  • Initiated the Talanta Community Cup, promoting climate justice through sports and environmental activities.
