Tunakujali is a Community-Based Organization driven by a deep understanding of the urgent need for peace and stability in our community. We recognize the challenges—rising tensions, conflict, and divisions—that threaten to disrupt the harmony we hold dear. At Tunakujali, we go beyond acknowledging the problem; we take deliberate, actionable steps to address it. Through innovative peace-building strategies and sustainable solutions, we work hand in hand with the community to foster understanding, unity, and resilience. We create platforms for dialogue, bridge divides, and empower individuals—especially the youth—to become champions of peace in their neighborhoods. Community Health Outreach

Community Health Outreach” provides free medical services, health education, and workshops to underserved communities, improving health outcomes, promoting prevention, and empowering families.

  • Limited funding and resources, making it difficult to sustain programs and operations.
  • Community resistance or mistrust, especially when challenging traditional norms or addressing misinformation.
  • Political interference, particularly during elections or periods of instability.
  • Youth unemployment, leaving young people vulnerable to engaging in conflict or extremism.
  • Environmental challenges, such as resource disputes and the need for long-term commitment to conservation.

Achievements

  • During the 2021 Kenya’s  crucial election period, we organized a successful Peace Walk advocating for peaceful participation among youth and the community, earning recognition with an award from the Kilifi County Governor.
  • We contributed to the development and launch of Kilifi County’s Action Plan for the Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism, promoting security, unity, and understanding.
  • In just two weeks, we planted 100,000 mangroves along Kirepwe Island, earning the Hummingbird Award for our commitment to environmental conservation and ecological preservation.
  • Through our annual Kilifi Cultural Exposure event, we have brought diverse communities together, fostering cultural exchange, mutual respect, and appreciation.
