Pads for Dignity

“Pads for Dignity” is an initiative focused on addressing period poverty in Magarini by providing menstrual hygiene products to underserved girls. The program ensures access to sanitary pads, combating school absenteeism caused by menstruation and fostering confidence and dignity among young women. Educational workshops are also conducted to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene, challenging cultural stigmas and empowering communities to support girls’ well-being. Since its inception, the initiative has reached over 1,200 girls in Magarini, distributing thousands of sanitary pads and partnering with local organizations to amplify its impact. By addressing both practical and cultural barriers, “Pads for Dignity” is creating an environment where girls can pursue their education without the fear of being held back by a lack of basic menstrual hygiene support. The program is a step toward ensuring every girl in Magarini has the resources she needs to thrive.
